Boudoir Shoot Ideas: Brides Lingerie -- Under the Wedding Dresses

The point of a boudoir shoot isn’t to make you look like a starving model, but to show off the natural sexiness that made your partner fall for you in the first place, but in the best possible light.

When shopping for your outfit(s), be a little adventurous but always make sure that you feel good in each piece. If not, you are going to feel awkward and really not enjoy the experience of a boudoir shoot.

It is very important to relax before the shoot. Ensure that your hands and feet (including your fingernails and toenails) are neat and clean. You won’t have much to hide in a boudoir shoot and you don’t want to ruin an uber sexy shot with a dirty nail, for example.

Pink Wedding Dresses from Spring 2013

While wearing a red, blue, or gold wedding dress this year will align your look with the season's most forward-thinking designs, opting instead for a blush gown will keep your colorful wedding dress feeling ultra-modern without sacrificing on traditional bridal style, too.

Long before runways ran wild with colorful wedding gowns, stars like Reese Witherspoon and Gwen Stefani wore blush dresses down the aisle, ushering in demand for softly hued looks.

Designers from Vera Wang to Carolina Herrera to Monique Lhuillier have long used pink as a soft accent color on sashes and embroideries, but with a punched-up palette this season, head-to-toe blush gowns are the new normal.

We, for one, couldn't be more tickled—pink. Now, seasons later, pink wedding dresses have officially debuted as a key trend for Spring 2013.

Unique Wedding Cakes Inspired by Art!

Whether you’re a fan of Impressionist paintings, abstract works or Art Nouveau, your favorite classic artworks can come alive in your wedding cake design.

The Kiss by Gustav Klimt Wedding Cakes & Cupcakes

Art by Symbolist painter Gustav Klimt is ultra-sensual and colorful, which is why “The Kiss” is one of the most popular classic paintings used for wedding cake design. This painting’s kissing couple glows with shimmery gold and makes for gorgeous inspiration. Wedding couples who love bold color and passionate symbolism are perfect for a Klimt-inspired cake, like these from Maribelle Cakery (top left of Klimt collage) and Two and a Half Femmes (bottom right). Or imagine cupcakes for your wedding with a Klimt-inspired theme. We love the cute Klimt cupcake from Sweetology.
Monet Water Lilies 1916

Waterlilies Cake from Gateaux Inc

Consider a Monet wedding cake for your ceremony in the garden, with a French wedding theme or at your destination wedding in France.
Cakes Inspired by the Art of Piet Mondrian

Painter Piet Mondrian created a memorable style all his own, called Neo-Plasticism, most recognized by his blocks of three basic primary colors in grids of black lines. You can clearly see the striking resemblance to Mondrian’s work in the colorful cake slice from pastry chef Caitlin Freeman (top right photo in collage, by Lance Iverson) and the tier wedding cake from Cakes to Remember.

Art Nouveau Wedding Cake from Sweet Cakes by Karen (right)

Louis Comfort Tiffany is perhaps the most famous stained glass artist in American history. Tiffany lamps like the one above from The Art Factory are still wildly popular today, available in many styles and intricate designs. So it’s no surprise that Tiffany and Art Nouveau stained glass-inspired wedding cakes like these from Sweet Cakes by Karen and Maggie Austin Cake are so divine.
